“Once middle school hit, I basically found myself alone. I didn’t know how to tell people how they made me feel for fear of making things worse. So I played my piano and wrote songs. Out came my stories and truths, ones I probably couldn’t otherwise fully see or admit to. In the flow of playing with melodies, I could be honest in a way that sounded amazing and unique.

I’ve always pictured a packed venue looking out at me each time I sing, even when it’s an empty room.”
